Using the great recipe posted by Sara, I had a go at making my first ever Bakewell Tart. I'm usually OK with savoury stuff but by no means an expert with cakes and desserts. It turned out OK but didn't rise as much as I would have liked (perhaps my folding in was rather too vigourous)! I'm not sure if you can tell by the photo but the icing is a lovely baby pink, a perfect Valentine's gift for a loved one. Mark certainly crammed a few down his neck anyway!
